This Privacy Policy describes how Matthew Davies (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Reaction Trainer mobile application (“App”).
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This App is designed to store your data locally on your device whenever possible, and we do not operate servers that collect or store your personal information.
Information We Collect
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following information is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us:
- Game Results: Reaction times, timestamps, and game outcomes (too early/too slow indicators)
- App Preferences: Haptic feedback settings, notification preferences, and app state information
- Achievement Cache: Local tracking of Game Center achievements to prevent duplicate submissions
This data remains on your device and is not accessible to us. You can delete this data at any time by uninstalling the App.
Information Collected by Third-Party Services
Apple Game Center
If you choose to sign in to Game Center, Apple collects and processes:
- Your Game Center display name
- Your best reaction time scores (submitted to leaderboards)
- Achievement completion status
This data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Google AdMob (Advertising)
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. Before showing personalized ads, the App will request your consent through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
If you allow tracking: Google may collect device identifiers and usage data to show personalized advertisements.
If you decline tracking: You will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your activity across other apps and websites.
Information collected by Google AdMob may include:
- Device identifiers (when permitted)
- Ad interaction data (impressions and clicks)
- General device information
This data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
We also use Apple’s SKAdNetwork for privacy-preserving ad attribution, which does not track individual users.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be clear about what we do not collect:
- Location data
- Camera or microphone access
- Contacts or calendar information
- Health or fitness data
- Personal information such as name, email, or phone number
- Analytics or crash reporting data
- Any data transmitted to our own servers (we do not operate data collection servers)
How We Use Information
- Local game data: To track your reaction time history and calculate statistics within the App
- Game Center data: To display your scores on leaderboards and track achievements
- Advertising data: To display ads that support the free availability of the App
Notifications
The App may request permission to send you local notifications for daily practice reminders. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any server communication. You can disable notifications at any time through the App settings or your device’s Settings app.
Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Your game results and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple’s secure data storage frameworks (SwiftData and UserDefaults).
- No Cloud Sync: We do not sync your data to any cloud service. Game Center data is synced by Apple according to their privacy practices.
- Device Security: Your data is protected by your device’s security features, including encryption when you have a passcode enabled.
Your Rights and Choices
Advertising Preferences
- You can change your App Tracking Transparency choice in your device’s Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
- You can reset your advertising identifier in Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising
Notification Preferences
- You can enable or disable notifications in the App’s Settings screen
- You can also manage notifications in your device’s Settings > Notifications > Reaction Trainer
Data Deletion
- Local Data: Uninstalling the App will delete all locally stored game results and preferences
- Game Center Data: To remove your Game Center data, visit Settings > Game Center on your device or contact Apple Support
- Ad-Related Data: To request deletion of data held by Google, visit Google’s Privacy Tools
For California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected
- Request deletion of personal information
- Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your personal information)

Since we do not collect personal data on our servers, most data subject requests can be fulfilled by managing your device settings or contacting the relevant third-party services (Apple or Google).
Children’s Privacy
Reaction Trainer is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
- The App does not require account creation or personal information
- Parents and guardians can manage App Tracking Transparency settings for children’s devices
- Game Center access can be restricted through Screen Time parental controls
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to a third-party service through our App, please contact Apple or Google directly to address your concerns.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy.
